Research assistants needed for an interesting book project. I'm putting together an encyclopedia of early American synthesizer music and I need help whipping my data into shape and ultimately writing the thing. 
This will be a self-directed part time position paid hourly with at least five hours of work available each week. Work will be varied and (hopefully) interesting. 

Skills desired: 
Attention to detail
Good sorting skills 
Knowledge of common research techniques
Familiarity with discographies
Familiarity with bibliographies
Familiarity with common citation types (MLA, Chicago) a plus.

Computer skills:
Adobe Photoshop or equivalent
Word processing
Internet forms
Scanning techniques

Duties include:
Scanning record covers
Sorting and managing written articles
Photocopying
Sorting and managing digital information
Digital image manipulation
Printing
Some data entry

Length: 1 month + 
Pay rate: $12/hr + expenses
Work type: independent contract (Form 1099)
